JLPCB Board Outline

NivagSwerdna:
Hi DipTracers,

I am trying to get my PCB design out of DipTrace into JLPCB Gerber Viewer and having problem getting their site to recognise the board outline (which is not rectangular so important).

Normally I export the "Board Outline" Gerber as .GML and the manufacturer can then figure this out but JLPCB seems to struggle.

Is there a trick to getting from DipTrace to JLPCB?  Please can you tell me an extension name that would work. (I tried .GKO, .outline,... but still get errors in the JLPCB viewer although other online tools think the export if fine)

Thanks
Nivag

MarkF:
I just did one that was not rectangular and it came out fine.
It was made of all straight lines.  Nothing curved.
I believe I read somewhere here that their on-line gerber viewer was not reliable.
Maybe you should contact them and ask to manually check your PCB.

My naming convention and the drill file had a .TXT extension

That's super helpful thanks.  They just cancelled my order so I will try again.  I think I must have sent them board not board outline.  The online viewer also displays some of my silk screen arcs incorrectly... I think that is their viewer.

MarkF:
That was my first PCB from JLCPCB.

I normally use Elecrow.
About the same price WITHOUT having the order number plastered all over the board.
(Just my inner OCD coming out.)    >:D

Me too. Elecrow is my #1 choice but for larger boards JLPCB seems cheaper. My board is 170mm x 60mm.
