ERRATA FOR THE ABOVE LIBRARY: the 12 pin SIL pattern is not centered on the origin. Not big deal, so I won't reupload it.

Here's another version of the library. I designed this for doing toner transfer PCBs. It has slightly bigger holes that fit a 0.9mm drill and the pad itself is bigger. When doing toner transfer boards, either use big clearances or get some soldermask like this.

And do something like this procedure.







I haven't done this, but soldermask is relatively cheap, so I want to give it a try. I still can't even get 10 mil tracks with 12 mil clearances, they claim they can do 6 mil tracks and 8 mil clearances at home! 

I have only attached the patterns because the symbols are the same. There is an option on DipTrace's schematic capture program for choosing a different pattern.

I just started jacking around with Diptrace 3 days ago.   I made a few parts already and its not that hard.  Harnon made a great tutorial on this.  His tutorial help with making the component and pattern files relatively easy.  I didn't do anything large but its not that hard.  I did basic pin numbers without descriptions like you would need on a MPU or somethng, but it doesn't seem like it would be that much more difficult to add the text descriptions.  The only thing that stumped me was saving them.  I never worked with librarys before and that stumped me until I figured out you build an initial library then add new patterns and components to the same one.  I was saving every file to its own name and had 2 new librarys every time I added a part.  The key I missed in harnon's tutorial is to hit "add to library" when building a part that is destined to live in an existing library.  The only time you save to a new file name is when you build your first part for a new unique library.
