'Genuine people personality'!
« on: September 27, 2023, 08:31:19 pm »
Oh no, the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation just got another step closer:

Quote
Meta announces AI chatbots with 'personality'

...
Several celebrities have also signed up to lend their personalities to different types of chatbots, including Snoop Dogg and Kendall Jenner.

Uh, "Meta", "AI", "chatbot" and "personality" in the same sentence, that all sounds very legit and enticing. Thank you Meta! :-DD

I wonder how long until someone gets Kendallbot to talk about how the nazis did nothing wrong, or something equally vile, then post it on the internet.  I hope their filters are clever enough, but somehow I doubt it.

You probably remember the incidents where some people were suggested to commit suicide by chat bots.

"However the new chatbots will not have access to real-time information - and Mr Zuckerberg said there were still "a lot of limitations" around what the bots could answer."
There is no mention that they learn and adapt from existing chat sessions, like that MS? one, so they've probably got it reasonably filtered.

Seems to be a decent way to differentiate themselves from the other LLMs, for this target market (asking for help with recipes, etc.).

P.S. I realised just after posting that this should have gone in 'Dodgy Technology' and have meekly asked for a relocation. Sorry Mods.
You can move your threads yourself.
There's a button somewhere at the bottom of the page.

Chat GPT doesn't seem to learn a thing.
If it can't answer a question the first time you "interact" with it, it doesn't matter if you tell it what it got wrong, it is equally as clueless if you ask it the same question again.

Yeah they web scrape for info so I assume its accessing a fixed database. So any input from users would be tossed (or used for analysis but not integrated).

This was the MS one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tay_(chatbot)

Here is a more recent one: https://kotaku.com/vtuber-twitch-holocaust-denial-minecraft-ai-chatgpt-1849960527
They don't say what AI method is used but they do say learning data has to be manually curated.
