Having developed the Experience680 tunable interconnect cable it was natural to ask whether there was anything we could do to improve the design.

It was certainly going to be difficult because we had aimed high with our first model but we decided to do some A/B testing against some of our earlier prototypes and noticed some of these produced a little more high-end air and space. Further research resulted in a bespoke conductor being developed for the Experience880 allowing a more open presentation.

The REDpurl™ Adaptive Geometry is of course at the heart of our Experience range of cables. The simplicity of the open loop design makes it easy to make changes allowing the user to make their own choices when it comes to exploring the full potential of their audio system.

The flexibility of the design to adapt to future changes in equipment and room conditions does away with the wasteful need to manufacture an array of different interconnects.

"There tend to be three main areas of performance that are addressed by Wire on Wire; mid-band clarity and top-end air, sound stage size and precision, and  bass  weight  and  warmth.  Systems  can  often  come  up  short  in  one  of  these aspects of overall performance, and the Wire on Wire cable allows you to zone in on addressing that shortfall without either tampering with the sound elsewhere,  or  having  to  work  through  a  store’s  worth  of  expensive  ‘almost’  cables in order to let your system find its mojo."  Alan Sircom, HiFi+ Interconnect cable of the year 2019

"I'm a natural cable sceptic, but one of the most impressive dems at NWAS was carried out by @WireOnWire . Differences clear!!" Stuart Smith, HifiPig.
"Happily I can report that the Wire on Wire spacers [with the Experience880] do work and create worthwhile differences between the various versions I tried."

"If you 'Experience' what a tunable cable can do in a system, there just might be no turning back".

Review by Alan Sircom, Editor, HiFi+, July 2019.

Fine-tuning your audio components
To help you get the best out of your system we suggest you try three different tuning references with our interconnect and speaker cables, which you can then modify at home according to personal taste and system requirements.
Straight out of the box- No tuning just take it out and listen
Studio- provides a more analytical focus by tuning specific loops along the cable.
Stage- presents a more immersive feel with larger images by tuning a different set of loops along the cable.
These references can be tuned at home by inserting spacers in the cable's loops as shown below:

Spacers are inserted at specific loops along the cable with loop number one counted as the first wires from the plug at the source component end of the cable:

Tuning positions shown for the Experience880 with loops 5, 7, 9 and 15 tuned:

We can carry out this tuning in our workshop before sending them to you. This we call 'Ultra-Tuning' and they will be sent to you with our logo in red for 'Studio' and gold for 'Stage' as shown in the table above. If you want to make changes to your cable's tuning at a later date these can be removed.

Experience880 technical overview

Experience880- improved conductor design, revealing cutting edge levels of detail and dynamics within a musical framework.
Unique, hand-built, tunable, REDpurl™ Adaptive Geometry.
Asymmetric, intersecting, non-parallel conductors address challenges of crosstalk, capacitance and harmonic modes.
    PTFE-insulated, silver-plated copper conductors.
Three different conductor gauges fully reproduce tonal and dynamic colour across the music spectrum.
Tuning, using spacers at individual cable loops, allows better matching of audio components creating the music that connects with you.

- Geometry: REDpurl™
- Conductors: Silver-plated copper
- Conductor formation: Multi-stranded
- Capacitance: 69pF/m (non-tuned)
- Inductance 10KHz: 0.54uH/m
- Conductor diameter: 16-22 AWG
- Insulation: PTFE

- RFI rejection: Modified twisted pair
- Shielding: N/A
- Directionality: Directional
- Termination: KLE Copper Harmony

Paul Messenger in his article above used cables that we had tuned in our workshop with fixed spacers in red heat-shrink (Studio) and gold (Stage). Contact us if you would like us to set up your cables in this way. Should you wish to re-tune your cables at home you can remove the protective heat-shrink and alter the positions of the spacers.

The only meaningful information I can see are those labelled in bold if they are true or not.

Is it really worth £650?

Looks very fragile to me.

Audio cables have to be the riskiest scam item to sell. The testing is trivial - split the signal at the source, pass one line though the coat hanger and the other one though the cable, compare on the other end. If you sound is the same, it is clearly not "analytical".

Power cables and magic stones are much harder to clearly demonstrate like this.

It would be nice to see some sales data on stuff like this. I wonder if people are as stupid as abundance of supply seems to show.
