First, its in a desert. Space is not a premium, mount those panels on the ground level, at the right angle.

--- End quote ---
but then you will need unnecessary extra "passive" roof to shade everything in the premise. and what right angle if sun goes from right to left in a day?

--- Quote from: NANDBlog on February 17, 2018, 01:04:27 am ---Second, when I see fans operated in dusty environments, all I can think of, how much the lifetime of those fans will be, and how often do you need to clean the radiators.

then make walls you genius. how much fun is the animation if all you see is a dull walls?

--- Quote from: frozenfrogz on February 16, 2018, 11:41:29 pm ---Anyway I hate this kind of story telling aproach. I call it "lies for kids": telling a fancy, oversimplified story with a lot of falsehoods rather than an acurate story

--- End quote ---
you can tell kids about every electrons involved, relativity theories and all, they'll just get back to their gaming tablet with no interest. thats how we educate kids (or investors) to gain interest, by telling over-simplified story. let the details to the on-site engineers., some informations are proprietary though no matter how much you are looking for the truth...

Anyone have an estimate on how much buzz and investors (and grants) you'll get these days for actually proposing a viable and realizable tech over these connected-green-digital-quantum-wireless technology of the future?

--- End quote ---

That's the infuriating part.  Seems investors only want to invest in something "new and cool sounding" vs something tried and tested.   You'll never get investors to invest in a boring old solar farm because it's been done before, but put the solar panels on the road and have people drive on them and the government will be giving you grants 6 ways to Sunday because it's new and innovative!

My windowsill must be really high tech then because every morning there is a puddle of fresh water on it from the windows above  :o

So I've got an idea.

Hear me out.

Suppose you've got a great idea, technically sound, but it's not raising much money.

With that money, hire a "design" firm to make something tasty for investors.

With a new crop of funding in, go make the original thing.

When you're done, just tell all the investors: "we're sorry you didn't get the thing that we knew was impossible from the get-go, so here, have some affordable, renewable water, oh and by the way here's your dividend that you'll never get from the other thing, cheers!"

:P
