I have never seen a 2 pin plug fail this way. Anyway for me there plenty of leftover cables of this type.

He probably damaged the plug deliberately in preparation for this "repair" video.

My first thought, without even watching the video, was: "only in India".

I mean, why not just use some bent metal hangers, instead of a hugely expensive powercord?
