Differential drive misunderstanding?
« on: June 13, 2021, 07:01:25 pm »
Just saw this video a while ago-https://youtu.be/2SUiwQVWe8w

It's been bugging me, he claims that
Let
Revolutions on output shaft=x
Revolutions on input shaft 1 =y
Revolutions on input shaft 2=z

Then
X= (y-z)/8

Now the thing is, near the end, he says, it can achieve arbitrary speed (lower than max) and resolution in output shaft.
I claim that he's wrong cause look at the equation.
Output resolution is limited to input resolution
And so are speeds
Cause there's no division or multiplication happening here (except for a factor of 8 )
Let's politely let him know about this
