What a right ripper! This is the latest in WOO-WOO. For a bit over 100 quid you get a cotton bed sheet full of fine wires and a mains lead with molded 3 pin plug that connects to the Mains Earth !!!! Their blerb reads:    "Many are unaware that the Earth’s surface is covered by a blanket of electrons, which may act as one of nature’s most powerful antioxidants and anti-inflammatories. Every time we come into contact with the Earth’s surface, we are able to absorb these electrons through our skin through a process called grounding, or Earthing. Grounding during sleep provides the body with multiple hours of these free electrons, at a time where the body undergoes the most healing and regeneration"...   There's even a couple of Woo-Woo as hell videos.... and The latter features a dodgy DMM!  I'm impressed with the posh webpage though...https://rowlandearthing.co.uk/

I think saying "plug your bed into mains wiring" is making it sound much more dangerous than it is. Whether or not it provides any benefit I don't know, probably not.

There are a handful of small studies, but most of them are questionable:

"Every time we come into contact with the Earth’s surface, we are able to absorb these electrons through our skin through a process called grounding"

At a capacitance for the whole earth of 711uF that's a lot of people sharing one terminal of a small capacitor to "absorb" electrons from. And if they do, will they reverse the polarity of the charge on the Earth? If that happens, will that make contact with the ground dangerous rather than beneficial? More worrying, there's Tantalum in the ground, and we all know how big a bang you get if you wire a Tantalum capacitor up in reverse bias!  :)
Anybody got a syringe I can use to squeeze the magic smoke back into this?

This idea of being electrically grounded while you sleep has been around, I first heard of it years ago. Here's a "scientific" article on an experiment - it MUST be true because the study was "triple-blinded" !!!11!

I wonder if it works better if your mattress has coil springs rather than memory foam. Maybe you could hook into some Schumann resonance.  ;D
