ARO-GEL REVIVAL. Possible. technology ?
« on: June 01, 2024, 04:24:58 am »
Thinking about if would need a licence / royalty deal, to mess around with selling a novel product, or two:

CBD 'Gummie Bear's.  A newer medical application is the current innovation in Cannabis derived, non-psychoactive edibles, for sleep and various stress disorders, and seizure disorders.
Maybe areogel could be 'flavored', like raspberry or other sweet types.

Hamster bedding ( ??). The strength to weight ratio is high enough, to support a 2 kg hamster.

Etc.etc.   There might be a good list, already, I haven't looked closely at what's already out there.   Maybe NASA has some introductory phampletts or something.

Right now, a frozen Raspberry Gelgurt sounds refreshing.
   How about Areogel m&M's (tm)?

I keep going back to FOOD, somehow.  Heck, I'm not even sure if it isn't toxic ?

Then:  Areogel Rat-poison ?

The FOOD snacks or medical edibles sounds the most novel.  ? ?  ?   ?    ?

I dunno they say bad things about dioxides in food like silicon and titanium

my gut says that its better without inorganic substances added

even for medication, gel-type coatings are seen as healthier then 'hard' pills. I think the main area of research right now is molecules that have fat on 1 side and salt on the other to make boundaries. The money is gonna be on nature derived.

and consumers are more and more distrusting of foam type substances, because they deteriorate so easily. i.e. black foam in CPAP, the memory foam "powders" etc.

it seems that if it powders easily, its bad news. Even flour, look up baker's lung.

it might be successful if its an alternative to something that makes micro plastic dust though.

I view foam as a cheap material, made in molds on dirt in pakistan, as something that is known to off-gas, deteriorate, crumble, smell, etc.... and is used as a cheap alternative to proper engineering. (instead of clamps).
