The confused solder station

(1/2) > >>

jason random:
saw this recently at fakebook marketplace. It's having an identity crisis. When I queried the seller if they changed the face plate they wouldn't respond.

Ranayna:
Even on the label it is both 937D and 858D :D
937D seems to be the proper model though i would say: I can only find 937D as soldering station and 858D as hot air station.

Voilamart GmbH is also quite interesting. Voilamart seems to be an australian company, but GmbH is german, the german version of a limited liability company.
Google knows a Voilamart GmbH that is closed.

Haenk:
Voilamart is a chinese company:

The brand is registered for some stuff, but not for most of the stuff they sell.

The german company (GmbH) is still registered, but has never filed anything. Very likely a case of tax fraud.

All in all this seems to be a very secretive odd company, there are literally no infos available - still they sell via Amazon and their own websites.

Recently I've noticed Chinese companies using Western sounding brand names and company names, and US/EU URLs, to try to hide the Chinese origin.

They also use localised addresses to also get people to buy.

Recently we had a chinese firm ask my firm to confirm or deny that we gave thier customer permission to use the company name to register Chinese urls. I suspected it was part of a scam if we responded.
