I would buy it, but not as a jumper cable, there's no chance of damaging that in workshop.... Link to the shop please  :-DD

more common than you think, even found the same in welding ground cables, trimmed back the heatshrink off the where the wire was joined, and it was barely thicker than 3mm, with like 10mm of insulation thickness.

Its part of why they say to not run high current loads over extension leads, if its not from a hardware store, your probably not getting a full mains current rated lead,

That sort of thing is more common than it should be.  I am surprised there are not billboards with the slogan, "Marketing is Truth".
