I had an EAGLE 4 professional licence (purchased in 2006!), which over the years I upgraded to 5 and then to 7. I stopped using EAGLE around 5 years ago and unfortunately, I now can't locate the activation code for v7.

I need to swap an obsolete component to an old PCB design that I did for a customer, but it was saved with v7 and won't open with v5. I tried importing it to KiCad, but the reproduction is not accurate and it will take some effort to rectify everything.

Does anyone have a v7 licence that they are no longer using and are willing to pass on? Thank you.

I know, dead horse, drowned cow, etc, etc. 

I face a similar problem: wanting a V7.x license (software I have).
They must be out there, I'd even settle for a 6.x license.

Why stick to Eagle and upgrade?
Eagle 5.12 does not handle XML libraries and Kicad isn't quite there yet, lacking a good pin- and gateswap...

Is freeware version not enough?
With a couple of workarounds but also with some limitations it is possible to design multilayer boards of unlimited size even in freeware V6.
Of course, for projects with complex routing on inner layers this won't work (impractical), but for everything else it's OK.

Well, I wouldn't even consider V5 because of old binary format.
Switching to XML has allowed for much better interoperability...
