Eagle will be part of Fusion360
Quarlo Klobrigney:
BTW my licensed version of Eagle 7.7 or whatever the last version for Windows was, I actually got it to work on Linux.
Eagle's original Linux install files wasted so much time to try to install and just don't work. |O
See the complaints and lack of success on the intertoobs.
I then decided on installing the Windows version in Wine and it took less than 1/2 an hour.
Regarding Kicad, I will wait to move for a while. My paid Eagle works just fine in Windows & Linux.
With all the add-ons, custom libraries and scripts through the years, I'm staying put.
You do know there are ways to LEGALLY add size to your small files without tampering with the program?
Plenty of ways just look them up (especially Linux). All of them external to Eagle.

you have to manually install some older libraries, it's not that straightforward to install old software on new linux distributions. don't recall which libaries are needed exactly but you can figure it out using "ldd" and "strace".

is that oshw edition different than the "Make" edition ? i have the make edition and it's 6 layers euro-card (160mmx100mm) for non profit projects only. funny part is it states "make edition" and "student version" at the same time :D

That was the Friday before a holiday Monday edition.

You need to install an older version of openssl (version 1.0), on my OpenSuse 15.6 workstation I used the command:
--- Code: ---sudo zypper install libopenssl1_0_0
--- End code ---
After that it installs and works without any problems.
Oh, and don't use that terrible wayland sh*t.
