exporting eagle files to gerber
« on: February 22, 2016, 10:43:22 am »
Hi I'm at a little loss
I'm trying to get some gerbers using this
https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/using-eagle-board-layout/generating-gerbers

but when I try to look at the gerbers with this tool:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/gerbv/?source=typ_redirect

it seems I'm missing some layers
I have a 6 layer pcb
but I can only see top and bottom

I tried searching a bit but with no luck

So the question is how to get my other 4 layers for the gerbers?
I always need 3 attempts to plug in a USB connector

The layers are probably not in the CAM job file.
As you can see, sparkfun has a 2 layer board.

So the question is how to get my other 4 layers for the gerbers?

In my time, we read the manual. The new generation seems to hate reading...

Check Help -> Generating Output -> CAM Processor

Use the attached cam job as an example. Open it in Eagle and check if the layers correspond. Remove the section for the v-cut (you'll probably don't need it).
Save it for later use. Before running it, create a subdir "gerber-excellon" in the project dir.

Always check the manuals and tutorials (v7) first: http://www.cadsoftusa.com/training-service/tutorials/

Eagle can design 6layer PCB? I know how to export 2layer and 4layer Gerber by Eagle, but for 6layer, I never did this before since I didn't see 6layer option. Do you have the 6layer .brd file? Send it to me and I can have a try for you.

Use this job file to generate gerbers.
