Fusion360 PCB copper text clearances
« on: March 20, 2025, 11:41:58 am »
Hey,

I'm getting tired of banging my head against the wall and the Fusion forums seem to be as lost as i am.

I'm trying to create a copper layer makers mark that i can simply add as a component to any pcb. The problem i'm having is that 'font: custom' seems so have it's own clearance rules when placed on a copper layer that ignores all other design rules.
Meaning, my polygon pour tries to avoid the text like it the plague and it seems like i can't do anything about it. I have the text inside a 'restrict top' frame and it's working correctly, as the pour has made it to one part of the makers mark outline.

I'm probably gonna make a simpler one using vector text but i kinda want to get this to work if at all possible.

Any good ideas or insights?

Right so i actually got a reply from the Fusion forums and it seems that i'm just SOL for the time being.
They mentioned that they should be releasing a SVG import feature soon™.

Guess i'll just use vector text and lines for now.

You can already import bitmaps using an ULP. The image will then be build up by lines.
That should work, even as component.
