I need help creating a smt connector breakout board.
« on: June 23, 2014, 10:26:44 pm »
I orinally posted my question at:http://forum.espruino.com/conversations/1593/#comment27325
To sum up what i would like to do is either purchase a breakout board that supports a Hirose DF40C (2.0)-40DS-0.4V (51) or create my own pcb using eagle cad. I seached google and stumpled upon a lot of smt breakout boards with a lower count of pins. As mentioned on the other forum I  probably need to create a custom pcd in eagle cad; however, I have no idea where to begin. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What exactly do you want to accomplish? Things with such fine pitch connectors are, quite often, also things that require a decent timing/signal integrity. Spreading it out on a breakout board may cause problems.

And as for the board itself, what exactly do you need? Send me an eMail or a PM with the details, and i'll see what i can do.

Oh, and have you thought about soldering the connector to the board later on? Are you able to do that?

Greetings,

Chris

How about this one?

  http://www.schmartboard.com/index.asp?page=products_partnum&id=62

Available direct from Schmartboard, or through distributors (such as Mouser).
