Pan & Zoom with Apple Magic Mouse

I'm using Eagle with Apple's Magic Mouse .  In user interface I enabled Legacy mouse wheel mouse.  So this lets me zoom by sliding my finger on the magic mouse, which I like.  But I can't figure out how to pan with the mouse.

BTW - if I uncheck legacy mouse wheel mouse, I can pan all around by sliding my finger on the mouse, but I can't zoom.  I prefer the zoom scenario, but it would be nice if I could hold shift or something to pan.

I too would like to use my Magic Mouse in a CAD scenario (DIPtrace & Altium, though).
Have you discovered anything since your post?

ctrl to pan! (or whatever key on apple is Control)

with eagle open in its CLI text box "SET Interface.UseCtrlForPanning 1" (without quotes). then just hold ctrl and move mouse, window will pan around.
