Adding notes to Board Outline Layer

I want to add notes to the Board Outline layer to let the PCB Fab (SeeedStudio) know the exact size of cutouts. I have added text in the Board Outline layer in Diptrace (purple text), but when I export to Gerber the text isn't visible only the board outline and cutouts.

Is there a special way to add notes to the gerber files?

Normally when I send the PCB/gerber files to get manufactured I'd include a text document that states exact manufacturing requirements. However sometimes I add notes on a mechanical layer (Mechanical 1 etc in Altium) to specify any specific requirements.

Why do you need to specify "exact size of cutouts" when that is what the board outline in Diptrace is exactly for. Do you have special requirements for the cutouts?

I wasn't sure if the board outlines were boundary lines of the cutout or the path for the router bit, if the latter I would need to allow for the router bit size. Seeed just said to specify the size.

Generally you design the PCB exactly how you want it to look like including the board outline. Then it is up to the manufacturer to do the board to that specification. Obviously you need to be mindful of practical drill sizes for vias and pads/holes and internal board cutouts as some dimensions may not be possible.

Also make sure that your track widths and clearance adheres to the minimum requirements set out by the PCB manufacturer. Typically most good ones will allow 6mil for widths and 6mil for clearance, however it's better to go a bit bigger so as to allow for a bit of tolerance.

 You can always use the snipping tool in windows and copy/save the image that has the writing on it.  Send it in an email to them along with your gerber files.  That is what I usually do.
