Hi all,
Good day! :)

Currently, I am using KiCAD tool, and it worked very fine till now. Now I want to move to an Industry standard tool which saves much time and improves productivity - with features(I am expecting) Collaborative PCB design, ECAD-MCAD, Rigid-Flex design, Powerful Automatic routing, Active BOM management, Version control, RF design & Circuit Simulation.

My Query is: Please, suggest me which one will be the best option for a start-up(1 to 3 Designers) to work with collaboration?? I would be better if I can get clarity on Licencing structure and Costings for each of them. And also let me know If I am missing any other Better tool which can solve my purpose??

Thanks in advance.

describe 'collaboration' ....
if you want to do multiple people SIMULTANEOUSLY in same file you need a vault.

Altium Nexus plus a vault installation on Firebird.
everything becomes managed

You just copied the Altium marketing feature list. Are you sure you need all these things? Some packages have a per module cost.
I am available for freelance work.

@free_electron
Thanks for the reply.

My understanding on Altium Nexus is, it is a successor to Vault(Data base) which brings few advanced features to Altium designer. Please correct me if I am wrong, I am new to Altium.

Do I need to pay for installing Altium Nexus plus??

I even have doubt that the Altium nexus is a tool like altium designer with collaboration feature. If it is the case, is it possible for switching between Altium designer and Altium Nexus on requirement basis without paying extra.

Thanks in advance.

@Gribo,

Thanks for the reply.

All the features mentioned in the previous thread are given in a document named "CS v AD Feature Comparison - Final". Won't I get access to all the features if I buy the Altium Designer 18/19??

Regards,
Madhuwesly.

Altium Nexus is a separate purchase, it costs 2500 plus 495 GBP per user.

You are aware, that different countries have different license fees, so it is not the best to ask about costs on an international forum like this? Look up the local distributor, and ask for a price. You can even haggle.
