ALTIUM : Output Gerber Inner Plane don't output properly
« on: May 23, 2016, 10:35:46 am »
I have a problem when I generate our gerber file with Camtastic.
When I generate Cam file everything looks fine.
From Camtastic if i export into Gerber file here we have two stranger things which are happening:

1./ The layer appearance in camtastic environment appear with very weird lines

2./ When I reimport the gerber files into altium to verify them again, we have the two inner layer (which I use for GND and PWR) in particularly which are very weird

Gerber dont support shapes, or polygons, or anything not round or rectangular (maybe to some level). So when you draw a irregular shape, it will be built up by putting lots of lines or rectanges or similar shapes. So your rendering cam kae it look wierd. Dont worry, the boards will be OK, since anything smaller than x um (25?) will be ignored.

I only ever use CAMTastic for viewing.  I wouldn't recommend trying to go back and forth between PCB and gerbers.  Keep it one direction only.

I have seen this before lots of times.  You can usually zoom in to confirm that your Gerbers are ok.
