LTSpice 17 fails to update under Wine

I've been testing LTSpice 17 with Wine, and it works great for the most part.
The one thing that doesn't work though is updating the software from within the app.
Updating components does work. But "Check for LTSpice updates" gives a 12157 (or -12157, not clear, there is a whitespace between the '-' and code) error code, every time.
