Cadence file, who can help extract the schematic?
« on: January 20, 2026, 08:32:10 pm »
I want to use the LM2678 simulation model with LTSpice. On the Texas Instruments website, I found a library for PSpice/Orcad that is in text format, which can also be used with other SPICE programs, but it has two outputs, OUT and OUT2, which I don't know how to connect. Since it's an average model, it doesn't surprise me that it will differ from the application schematic. In the files from the manufacturer, beside the library with the SUBCKT Spice model, there is likely a schematic and a schematic library element.

I would like to see the schematic and also know how the pinout of the .SUBCKT LM2678_AVG VIN RDIV VOUT GND OUT2 connects to the schematic. If someone could help by opening and saving it as a graphic file.

The files were likely saved in Cadence 16.2. (I found strings in DSN file)

Zip file downloaded directly from ti.com

I do not know if the attached (converted) files are of any help but
this is what I could do.

It´s been a long time ago, 20+ years, I worked with cadence Schematic on a PC.

But the Schematic files alone where basically useless, as they didn´t contain the schematic symbols.
Like other EDA: Altium Designer, Eagle do.

The symbols are/where only in lib files on company server. Without these libs you just saw square boxes for all components where symbol was missing.

I actually guess this was done by Cadence on purpose, so the Schematic file was only useful on PC with access to the company own Symbol and Device libraries.

But maybe its different now.

This is the pin mapping:

X^@REFDES %VIN %FB %VOUT %GND %VSW @MODEL PARAMS: ?IND|IND=@IND||IND=15U|
VIN RDIV VOUT GND OUT2

@Andree Henkel: you are writing about the DOS version of Orcad capture. The Windows version of Orcad capture has included the symbols for at least 25 years.
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.
