connector silkscreen outside of board outline
« on: August 20, 2016, 09:01:42 pm »
Is having the connector silkscreen outside of board outline an acceptable  design practice? Will this cause a Fab house to reject my Gerbers?
Attached is a board layout used as an example from a PCB layout software package.

They will truncate this. No issues expected. Have done so a few times.

I never (almost 20 years) had any problem with silkscreen sticking outside the board outline.
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

As above they will crop it.

I do notice however you have what is probably a capacitor top left which is overhanging on what looks to be a screw terminal or something.  Just in case you missed that.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I noticed the overlapping cap also. The image is from a tutorial that came with the layout software. I used it to illustrate my question (a picture is worth 1000 words).  It's not a board I'm making. Again, thank you everyone for your input.
