Is Australia East or West? That's a relative problem.

Ban western. technology,  while complaining about western restrictions on "eastern" tech.

Those making these decisions know exactly what they are doing, and it's a long game.

If you consider the current state of EULAs, telemetry and other restrictions, it is not unreasonable to find ways to avoid such vendors. It is not so much that they are "western", it is more that they are increasingly unpalatable to do business with.

Why no Aussie reply? Do they not care what goes on in their far western territory?

Mecanix made it fairly clear in reply#3 that the Cocos (Keeling) address is simply one of convenience, just as some others proudly proclaim themselves to be citizens of Antarctica.
