Title: FREE Schematic Symbols & PCB Footprints
Post by: paulcav on March 22, 2017, 09:34:46 pm
Here is website that i found where you can search for a component and download the library for the CAD siftware of your choice, Eagle, Altium, Diptrace and many others. If the library doesn't exist then it can create one and notify when it is completed, it can even find the data sheet of those difficult to find components.

SamacSys is the leading developer of software tools for creating and managing electronic component ECAD data.

I don't think its a case of downloading a "library" more of individual library parts/symbol/component.
They are relatively new on the scene and my experience of using their ecad wizard is that although the part creation was good, there are several problems I encountered with the symbols and components. Certainly requiring additional work by me after importing into my CAD package.

Mattylad you are correct - I just tried and it is on a per part basis. I'm personally pleased about this as I do not want lots of parts in my library that I will never use.

They will create models for free. I've been using them a few years and I have found them very reliable and fast.

I have not had to modify any of the downloaded content on 50+ parts I have used but I do not use the Excel plugin I just download from the website with their Library Loader.

I'm picky, I want my symbols and components to be completely correct to how they should best be done in my CAD package.
Unfortunately I found that this was not the case with them, they may be better now - however you get no choice in what you get (component wise) - you just get it.
