Hi,
Is it true that if using EasyEDA, you can only store your schems and layouts on their web-server? (ie not on your local C drive etc).
Also, where is their web-server and who owns EasyEDA?

You again with the paranoia.

It is owned by the same company that owns JlcPcb and LCSC.

There is offline mode for the project files, but it is not a full offline mode, the part libraries are still online-only: https://docs.easyeda.com/en/FAQ/Client/index.html

You know you can find all of that trivially with 5 minute search? But this is not your goal, is it?

EasyEDA is actually owned and operated by Blueskull, a former participant in this forum.

Thanks, but i have heard that even in "Full Offline" mode, the owners of EasyEDA are still able to access your schematics and Layouts?....and this is because you have to be online to use EasyEDA, and so all your schems and layouts are viewable by the EasyEDA people?

This was the opinion of all the engineers at a place where they use  EasyEDA.
It was kind of an "in joke" that all the schems and layouts of the company were not confidential in this way.

"Projects offline" mode needs you to be online in order to go from schem to PCB...so that suggests they can see your schem and PCB.

"Full offline" mode...is that even available?....and for what cost?...its not clear.

There is no full offline mode at the moment anyway. This is a trade you make. If you don't like it, don't use EasyEDA. This is essentially a tool to promote their other services.

I personally would not want to use it purely based on the available functionality. And the need to be connected.

There is not a whole lot you can do with it that would be super confidential or worth stealing. It is a tool for quick prototypes, if you design your real workflow around it, it is your fault.

Thanks,  the co where i once worked used it, and it was a running joke that all schems and layouts were visible to the Chinese Government...according to them. Thats what they believed, with ironic consideration.

Sure, they are probably visible to the government. But you need to have quite an ego to assume that Chinese government cares  about your designs.

I would be way more worried about longevity of the design. EasyEDA can close tomorrow, and your project will be just meaningless files.
