Software that can rasterize RS274 files

I am experimenting with PCB etching at home. I need tool that can rasterize gerber files to bitmap picture with predefined resolution.
I downloaded several gerber viewers and tried to export layers but none of them has option to set resolution.
GBR_RIP from artworks advertises such feature but it is 3500$.
Does any of you knows such a tool that has hobbyist friendly price?

Actually gerbv has some potential. When I first tried I missed field to enter DPI for the resulting PNG image.
Today I tried it carefully and noticed DPI field in export dialog.
Seems that PNG can be parsed in python or other programming language to produce different picture formats.
