Is PCBWAy open?
« on: December 27, 2016, 09:44:28 am »
Does anyone know if PCBway is shutdown for holidays or similar? I'm getting no replys from them at all.

Nope, all closed for weeks. Equipment upgrades, extended break, then Chinese NY. They say they'll be open 1 week between the 2 NYs, but there's so much
backlog, if your job didn't get in before the first close, don't bother. PLUS the first few weeks back will be over-loaded. It's the email I got from them when I asked.
I since found PCBCart, who are only stopped 1 week. Ordered my PCBs before xmas, and getting delivered end of this week. Similar prices.
Hello <tap> <tap> .. is this thing on?

ummmm not to sound argumentative but ... HUH?
So, they're having a major equipment upgrade, great news. They have posted on their website. Or do like I did, go to pcbshopper (or ask here) for alternatives,
again, with results. It's not like NO ONE had any idea that companies close down over xmas - new year, or Chinese should skip their new year ???
Heck, for the last couple weeks, I've been trying to find out closing times for businesses and companies in OZ, and very few bother to list them. IN OZ !!
Sounds like Santa didn't get you your wish :-)

I just got a board from them today (i'm in China now).
There is no christmas / new years break here in china. Maybe they just don't ever respond via skype ?

I ordered my things on the 22th of december , received it today (27 dec).

Beats me then. The email I got from them was quite specific, with times. Maybe some orders were put through with skeleton staff, or farmed out.
As for replies, I find there's a ~4 hr window where I always get a near instant reply. Away from that it's pot-luck.
They were specific that they were making major updates (and maintenance) to the equipment. Like I said to OP, others are definitely open.

I've seen a notice on their website that maintenance was finished on Dec. 21.

Yep I saw the message that their maintenance was done at the time I ordered.

Well, beats me. The email I received Dec 15ish was quite detailed about closing times. It's at another place (closed), so I can't post it.

http://www.pcbway.com/spring-festival.html

Looks like a couple of weeks off for Chinese new year as you'd always expect, that's all, nothing unusual reported.

It may be possible that because of some technical reason they haven't received your mail. Try again or also you can call them directly for any inquiry. Check by calling them that they are open or not.
