Simetrix SPICE software recommendation
« on: August 19, 2019, 05:43:52 pm »
Hello guys,

I want to drop a product recommendation for Simetrix

I have been using this Pspice tool for two years now. I found it much easier to use then LTSpice and similar software. In particular for the following reason:

* the included library is very good, I actually never had to import any components
* The graphs are nice, although not very intuitive
* The Montecarlo analysis is easy to use (it's needed to calculate the effect of component tolerances)
* the included probes are very easy to set up, for example the pre set-up bode plot with phase and gain margin calculation
* Never had weird errors, those that came up were easy to debug
* No writing spice commands (although you can if you want)

In theory, it integrates with Altium, but I have not yet tried

Basic version is free, with size limitations, the classic is around 1000something usd if I remember correctly
The other versions I imagine are probably really expensive
