LTSpice Performance Tests

(1/1)

udok:
Hello,

I have uploaded a PowerShell script to test LTSpice performance (LTSpiceBenchmarkEricSims.zip).
The test files include the quasi standard test files bjtff.cir, mike2.cir, mux2.cir and more complex test files.

Please run the test and post the results or report problems here. The file Readme.md has more info.

I am specifically interested in Ryzen 9 versus Intel i9/i7 because in preliminary tests the results are very different (up to a factor 10) depending on the test case.

Best regards,
Udo

LTSpice performance depends largely on the storage device to which the raw results are written. Are you using the exact same HDD or SSD in each case?

I use SSD.  The performance should not depend much on the SSD speed (i hope at least).
Windows uses the RAM to cache the files, and the run time is much larger than the time needed to write the raw file to disk anyway.
