new cheap Zuken Cadstar
« on: September 25, 2014, 06:50:05 am »
Zuken just released a new Cadstar essential bundle for just $999
http://www.zuken.com/en/news/press-releases/2014/09-cadstar-essential

the new bundle is limited to 1000pins 4layers ( althought I hope it is actually 4layer autorouter and unlimited manual router like the basic bundle).

it seems like Zuken is trying to take on the lower end segment of the market, a segment where Altium is the main competitor and Cadsoft Eagle sells it's Pro licences. I tried the version 14 but hated the libary editor, new parts in Altium were way easier to build, even with Eagle were easier. Would you choose this bundle instead of Altium ?

I find making library parts very easy, especially if I can get a pinlist.
It's not drag & drop to make them, just some common sense & a little knowledge on what your doing (like any CAD package).

I wonder if this package is available in the UK?
