What the heck is this IC?
« on: October 11, 2022, 08:42:09 am »
I had a bunch old pedometers lying around (don't ask why) and decided to pop em open and compare it to a brand new one to see how they are similar/dissimilar.

Sure enough, all the old ones used some form of pendulum to determine whether a step was taken.

This new one, on the other hand, has an IC. There's incredible small writing on it that says WZ1. Googling, searching digikey and searching partfinder proved helpless. For reference, the pedometer it came from is named "NESKLA 3DPEDOMETER"

Can anyone here identify the chip? Surely some type of accelerometer, right?

Accelerometer? I would guess these two resistors are ~4.7K Ohms for the I2C lines.
