OpenEMS (dfdt) simulation of RF in 3D

Hi,

Over the last year I started working on a library to directly export
our geometry from pcb-rnd into OpenEMS. In the course of doing that
Koen (one of the contributors to OpenEMS) decided to join our project
and he added hyperlinx format support.

The following video shows my recreation of one of his demos of OpenEMS
simulating a hair pin (distributed element) filter using pcb-rnd
instead of eagle which is what he was using.



So yea, we already have one way to simulate RF on boards and we are
working on another.

Eventually we will have more of Koen's examples reproduced and at least one pcb antenna.

The idea is to add support for direct export from pcb-rnd to openems with out going through hyperlynx and to do more like display the results in pcb-rnd, provide a dedicated layer group for control of meshing, and etc. This assumes we have people who are actively using the software continuing to ask for it.

Do you have much experience with EM simulation?
