Pads Dxdesigner schematic to Layout
« on: August 13, 2016, 03:43:02 pm »
Hi  need help with a new design (newb).

Is there a method to group related components on the  schematic  such that  when I port the design to layout
related components  are  clustered together?

For a new layout part are randomly placed which  slows  part placement on the pcb.

thanks

Best I have managed is to leave DxD connected to PADS Layout (do not close the DxD Link application) then you can do cross selections from the schematic.
Click on a component on the schematic and it will be selected on the layout.

I have not (Yet) found the equivalent of Altiums Rooms.

Regards, Dan.

Click on a component on the schematic and it will be selected on the layout.

Expanding on this, you can also select multiple in SCH (PADS Logic tested), and then many select on Layout.
You can then do Disperse, and only those selected will disperse, and from there, you can do finer moves.
