Shortcuts - Standard vs Custom
« on: October 23, 2013, 02:02:59 pm »
Our design group is debating whether to stick with standard shortcuts or allow customization by each user. Each direction has merits, but would like feedback on pitfalls -either way - that others have experienced. Thanks.

I think first, you would have to explain what the heck you are talking about?

Shortcuts?

I take a shortcut to work, nipping through an housing estate or a shortcut from the desktop tp run a program? or a hotkey in a package?

I'm guessing you are talking keyboard shortcuts.

I'd personally suggest keeping them standard across the company, as if you need to train staff you don't have to go about setting themselves up with a custom set of shortcut keys. This would be extremely important if these shortcuts are on an expensive, custom machine.
