Simple'ish BOM software recommendations?
« on: August 19, 2017, 11:11:21 am »
Hi all,

I'm looking for some simple inventory / BOM / order list software (preferably freeware).

I would like to:
- keep a local parts inventory
- import project BOMs from Altium
- combine BOMs into a larger list
- make a to-order parts list based on whats needed, and quantity by best price breaks.

I've looked at BOMER. Its a bit unfinished and doesnt quite do what im after.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks :)

There was a nice and low cost BOM software called Parts&Vendors from trilogy Designar, but unfortunately it  is now unsupported.

Looking for future alternative to P&V, I found:
- Parts-in-Place (http://partsinplace.com)
- OpenBoM
- miniMRP
- FusePLM
- PDXpert PLM

Any of this is freeware but low cost respect to other package like Civa, bought from Altium some years ago.

Regards

I too am looking for the same solution.

There are lots of threads on here covering various offerings.
I've tried quite a few of the stand alone local storage packages but none really do the whole job.

minimrp looks like a good solution, I can't quite justify the US$200 (from memory) price tag just yet.

BOMER developer here!
If it doesn't do exactly what you're looking for let me know. Since it's under active development there's a good chance it can be improved in a very short time according to your input.
