Stipling on Board Edge
« on: March 27, 2025, 07:26:53 pm »
So I'm re-designing a board that has very poor documentation. It's a small circular pcb a little over an inch in diameter. It has some stippling/texture on the edges at 4 equidistant points. How would this be called out, just put it in the notes that you want texture at 4 equidistant points ? Any advice/input would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Unclear what you're asking, but are you sure this isn't just the leftovers of mouse bites that were broken out of a panel?

Mouse bites remaining from the break off tabs that were holding it in panel?

Cool.  Now that you know about mousebites, you should look up why they are used and how to implement them if you need to panelize the design.  If you get that wrong it will make manufacturing much harder (like the boards won't be rigid enough for reflow, or they will be too rigid and require extra work to depanelize).
