Submitting Multi-PCB designs to China?
« on: January 25, 2019, 11:58:22 am »
Hi!

Just a quickie one!

Attached are the Gerber Files for Liv's PSL-3604 project, and I'd like to get a set made!

Can anyone have a quick look @ these please, & recommend a PCB House in China, etc., that will make a set of these as one order without treating 'em as five different (and separately chargeable!!) designs?

If not, can anyone suggest the procedure to submit 'em separately and the most economical PCB House please?

There are already few threads about this. Try search.

Separating the designs by vCut should not impose any fees,  full pcb separation by milling definitely will add fees.

Sorry, could not open the gerbers, uploading a rendered image would be more practical I guess for quick evaluation.

You can't put multiple gerber designs into a zip like that. If you send this kind of gerber to a fabhouse either they will refuse to deal with it or charge extra $$ for the hassle. You need to pre-panelize it yourself by copying and pasting the layout for the 3 boards onto one big board, and drawing the v-cut lines (on the outline layer). Also be careful that v-cut lines must go all the way through the entire length of the board.

Last time I checked most fabhouses charge for v-cut lines, but some allow multiple designs separated by routed tabs (e.g. elecrow). If you've done the panelization correctly your outline layer should look like the attached image.

Also always preview your gerbers before sending them in; I use both https://gerber-viewer.easyeda.com and https://oshpark.com/
If either of these two viewers give you any errors you should fix it or else no fabhouse will want to deal with it.

Hi!

Thanks for – I still have an ancient copy of P–CAD 2006 that will read Liv's native design files he supplied!
