XJW01 0.3% LCR Meter Circuit Diagram
« on: October 20, 2017, 01:11:22 pm »
Hi!

I am trying to writeup, in English, better details of the XJW01 Bench-Top LCR Meter reviewed here:-

https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/xjw01-auto-lcr-meter-review-($120-bench-top-lcr-meter)/

and dealt with (in Chinese!) on the original Designer's Forum:-

http://www.crystalradio.cn/thread-231933-1-1.html

but in order to do this, ideally, I'd like to be able to edit the original diagrams!

Can anyone identify if this was done with dedicated EDA Software and let me know the name of it, and if not, can anyone suggest how it was produced please?

Chris Williams

Chris, it could be done with any software, if all you have is a png file (graphic) from the website then your only going to be able to use a graphics program such as Gimp - paint etc. to be able to edit it, unless you want to completely redo it.

What do you mean by "edit it" ? how much editing are you wanting to do?

If you just want to make it look like its your own drawing so as to not breach copyright then I can see an hour+ of messing around in Paint :)

p.s. reading on the first page of the original authors site (I don't read Chinese) Sprint 5.0 is mentioned.

Hi!

What I'm wanting to do is rearrange the diagram more neatly over several pages, but in particular, Mr Putian appears to have coloured certain of the resistors to indicate special requirements, which is very difficult to determine from the translated Chinese!

Also, Mr. Putian appears to have used the same circuit-drawing tool for the theory circuits in his Word Technical Paper, which I'm also in the process of translating!

What I'm asking is - is there anyone on EEVBlog Forum can recognise the tool, the style of drawing or the individual Circuit Symbols, etc., elsewhere on the internet in general and can point in the direction of where to find diagrams drawn in the style?

Also if I know what tool/drawing program he used it might be possible to extract the Chinese Letters from the drawing itself - I tried various online OCR tools and one that came with my all-in-one printer but no luck!

PS!

I did try to register for an account on Crystal Radio so I could ask Mr. Putian direct but the Forum wanted you to solve electronics pictures with Chinese Text overlaid, but I couldn't work out what was being asked and the Forum kept knocking my application out!

He made the PCB using Protel, it's a high probability of schematics to be the same

If your gool is to replace Chinese comments only, this on line software may be enough

Hi!

I tried the free online photo-editor but regrettably I'm useless with image-editing tools as I've not used them enough!

However, trying various tools on the Forum's PCB/EDA Software List, I came across (very round-about!) what appeared to be the original tools  Mr. Putian may have used - I think the closest match to the symbols was Xcircuit, so I'll try making a diagram myself with it and see how close it looks to the xjw01 diagrams.
