I have solidworks and very little experience or patience for learning it,
Does anyone have a youtube video that shows something like a spiral being made, basically I want to use my 3d printer to print something to wind an inductor on. I was hoping for a general shape, so I can just learn to resize it for my purposes to get limited use of out solid works.
I mean a axial inductor, so I want to learn how to make a spiral on a cylinder, or possibly other shape, like a doughnut or wedge (not necessarily a round inductor).
I need something that I can pause and go back on because I am not good at learning 3d cad programs. I did this with a heat sink before, with the video I have some where, I can resize it to make any simple heat sink if I follow the steps and change some numbers, with little fustration in around 30 minutes. I know a heat sink and a inductor bobbin are basically the same thing, but the inductor needs to have a spiral, the heat sink is peice wise unfortunately.
I would prefer to start with one that does not have the dumbell shape, just a simple rod (i.e. ferrite rod antenna).
