Title: Raspberry Pi4 high power consumption after USB overload
Post by: jrobi772 on March 14, 2021, 01:30:44 pm
Hi,
Im powered my Raspberry Pi4 2GB from Gpio pins and its worked normaly(booting from USB3 Samsung pendrive 600mA current usage) until i was pluged in an USB hub into the lower USB2 port, with an Ydlidar X4 was plugged in. After that the PI4 basic power consumption rised to 1300mA without the USB hub, im think a PTC fuse or something was the changed the resistance. Just dont find what is that.
The board was working just doubled the power consumption.
Its looks the VLI VL805 temperature is higher than normal.

Thanks

hmmm somethings wrong  |O it happened to me once, I powered up Pi3 and it just went off  |O couldn't start it again, so I think you should go for a new one and be careful next time
