Petlinux on Zynq FPGA - Developing on Windows
« on: February 04, 2021, 06:26:32 pm »
Hi guys,

After recently having to bring up an embedded linux project on a Zynq 7015 using petalinux, and going through the various trials and tribulations involved, I managed to get Petalinux working on a windows machine using WSL. Hopefully managed it in such a way that a team can develop the kernel and the application code simultaneously and use git to manage the whole thing.

The process was painful enough that I decided to write a post about the whole thing, in the hopes that I can make someone elses day a little less painful.

Anyway, if anyone has any interest in the subject the post can be found here: https://doayee.co.uk/petalinux-on-windows-via-wsl-and-git/

I was pretty astounded at how arcane the process seems to be for this thing, and how little support Xilinx is willing to give for any petalinux install that isn't the exact same parameters as they once set up...

Anyway I hope this helps someone.
