This is a informative video by Leon Wagner given in August 2018 at the German Forth User Group.

As can be seen in the video, Forth is very much in current use, such as a high tech device, similar to a implantable RFID tag to alleviate severe back pain in humans.

Forth is great for embedded development work. For example a small Forth CPU inside an FPGA.. All you need to write the FW is a serial terminal then  :)

Unless I miss-remember, there is at least one Forth developer who mentioned he is working on something like that.

He has a website here, but I don't see any mention of his Forth/FPGA project, perhaps it's ready yet.
