2nm Chips
ali_asadzadeh:
IBM has done it, any Idea what we could achieve with that?
woofy:
That's around 10 atoms. Amazing!

More bloat.
ataradov:
We can achiever that as soon as any marketing person gets on the job.
Their "nm" numbers are meaningless anymore. They just redefine what they measure to make numbers lower.
woofy:
Transistor density may be a better metric.
Intel's 10nm node is about 100m transistors/mm2
TSMC's 10nm node is 52m transistors/mm2
and their 7nm node is 91m transistors/mm2
So Intel's 10nm node is denser that TSMC's 7nm node.
IBM's 2nm node is around 330m transistors/mm2
