I want to give a costumer a quick firmware update for a Altera MAX CPLD. So i want to give them the simple standalone programmer software to get the firmware in via JTAG. However looking for it i found that there new overlords at Intel have completely replaced the download pages.
As a result all the old links are now redirecting to this generic download page:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/collections/products/fpga/software/downloads.html?s=NewestYou can get the old IDEs reasonably far back, as it should be since you often need a old IDE to compile for an old device. But they seam to have forgot any of the other extra tools (like the standalone programmer). So it seams you have to download the entire IDE of 8+ GB and then to install it it needs 25GB of space. Then you probably also need to register and get a free license from Intel to use it etc..
What the hell Intel? If you are going to update the website to be in your new wanky modern style at least carry over all the downloads.
Am i missing something here? Or is a whole overkill IDE+license the new workflow for simply loading a CPLDs bitstream over JTAG?
