Gowin AR (GW2AR-LV18QN88C8/I7) dual mode pins!
« on: May 03, 2020, 01:58:39 pm »
Hi,
Finlay my first run PCB's came from china and I managed to solder the GW2AR-LV18QN88C8/I7 and test the chip the first blinky! every thing is working as expected, also I have connected pin 56 and 57 of the FPGA to some IO that I need, but the place and route complains about the current location is useless! |O is there any workaround this or I am stuck to redesign the PCB! :'( :'( :'(

I have found the solution! >:D
you need to check these options, so it would be used as regular IO

Nice. Can you tell where you bought this FPGA? I'm trying to source some Gowin FPGAs to test but without success.

They are in all usefull, I think they can easily replace spartan 6 devices, with much lower prices.

I PMed you about that.

How many do you need? I once worked with those devices back when LCSC carried them, and I ordered 10 of those QFN88 w/ 64Mb SDRAM version (the exact one OP uses), and I used 1.

I can spare the rest 9 of them at the cost they have costed me, which is around $10 each plus shipping.

I've used a company called yoybuy in the past to buy things for me in Taobao. Maybe you can sell to them and they sell to me?

I PMed you about that.

Yes, I saw that. Give me some time to find a reshipper. Electronics, chemical powers and prescription drugs or even glasses are prohibited from exporting without a license. To workaround it without a license, I need a licensed reshipper. Those services are cheap and usually cheaper than me to ship it directly anyways, but I need some time to contact one.

I am also looking for Gowin parts (but the much simpler GW1N-1) but I am not able to find them anywhere. Not even on taobao, 1688 etc.  :-//

Ok, waiting for it. How did you program them? FTDI?

My board puts the FPGA in reset mode, then control the SPI pins directly to write to the flash, then release SPI pins and allow FPGA to boot normally from the flash.
That's great too, you mean you pulldown the Reconfig Pin and access the SPI flash?
