Is it safe to swap these FPGAs?
« on: March 19, 2020, 09:41:07 pm »
Hi,

Apologies for the basic question (just a noob here), but I am looking to confirm if it is safe to swap a Xilinx XC3030A FPGA (complete marking below) with an identical replacement.
XC3030A
PC84BKI9725
A2004896A

With my little understanding of FPGAs and going through the datasheet, it looks like this FPGA doesn't have a local ROM, so I gather it should be safe to replace, but can someone please confirm?

Thanks!

I am not sure about this old FPGA, but you should also check speed grade. Other than that - should be no problems.
