Xilinx ISE license through University Program
« on: March 01, 2016, 05:10:57 pm »
Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone has ever acquired a Xilinx ISE license through their university program (http://www.xilinx.com/support/university/donation-program.html).

I need a full edition of ISE to program an old Spartan 3A-DSP that resides on the Ettus Research N210 USRP.

My professor and I followed the protocol for requesting a license donation, but have not heard back from Xilinx yet. It's been a month since the request.

Has anyone ever had any help from Xilinx using this approach?

They can be quite slow at times, maybe 3 weeks to a month. I'd say hang in there a bit longer.

It is slow, but as the page says, if it takes more than a month you should contact them.

You can use the ISE Webpack which is free.

Divvi, azer - yes, it's been a while. My professor pinged them again.
legacy - that still costs money that hasn't been allocated for this project yet.
GuilTy - if actually read my post, the Webpack edition doesn't support my target device. Thanks anyway.

It is not cheap...

Last time I checked there was a free 30days trial when you download other versions.
