aioe.org news server dead?

I've been using aioe.org as my news server for years. Looks like it has died a couple weeks ago without any kind of further notice, and I have a hard time finding any info about it as well.

So,
- Does anyone know what happened to them?
- Does anyone know of an alternative server (not google sh* please!)
