Cliff CP30105 USB 3.0 connector cable?
« on: April 02, 2020, 04:54:38 pm »
Hi,
Got these connectors for a project but I'm starting to regret it, tried 3 times to make a PCB connector adapter from the 1.27mm pitch double row header they have used to the standard USB 3.0 internal header found on motherboards that converts to USB 3.0 A male but still can't get it right, the idea is to use them as an extensions to bring the female USB A ports from a micro pc housed inside a waterproof enclosure to the side of that enclosure. Is there anyone who has used these and has found a ready made cable. This is what I'm working with, also before you start telling me that there is that classic style panel mount extension, I will also add that, since this is a standard XLR shell, there are water/dust guards for it, for when there isn't anything connected.

Seems like it'd be simpler to use the regular ports instead of motherboard connector. Something like this would probably do the job.

Nice, hadn't seen that one and it's also from the distributor I always use, one thing though is that the cable is a bit on the long side, the enclosure I'm using is actually just a few centimeters bigger than the Thinkcenter, main reason is that the system needs to be mobile.

But https://www.tme.eu/en/katalog/data-connectors_31/?visible_params=613%2C1382%2C2%2C1182%2C536%2C82%2C416%2C419%2C1322%2C516&mapped_params=536%3A1436558%2C1438554%2C1436558%2C1460610%2C1438864%2C1460610%3B613%3A1447311%3B1382%3A1493258%3B it seems that there are actually shorter ones and from Amphenol, well I see where was the problem, they are under the Connectors category and not the Cables.

Thank you very much.
